Vision

To become the most standardized, plug-and-play systems provider for surface water and groundwater monitoring in US surface mining.

How we work

Give us the problem. We run the process.

Tell us the operational problem and the outcome you need. We design, fabricate, configure, test, deploy, commission and document the system. You do not coordinate a handful of small vendors or manage every technical detail.

  1. Site planning meeting with a mine operations team around a pit expansion plan
    STEP 01

    Consult

We start on site with your people: flows, levels, access, power, and the data your team needs now and later. We walk it together before we design anything.

  2. Engineering drawing of a velocity and level sensor housing on a partially filled pipe
    STEP 02

    Design

We engineer each system for your site, using standard assemblies wherever they fit.

  3. Technicians building panels in the Colorado shop
    STEP 03

    Build & test

Cabinets and stations are fabricated and configured in Colorado, and factory tested before they ship.

  4. Two EnerTek technicians installing a control cabinet in snow
    STEP 04

    Deploy & commission

Stations arrive pre-assembled on skids. We set, connect and commission them, working to your site safety requirements.

  5. EnerTek technician servicing a solar monitoring station
    STEP 05

Case studies

Experience in demanding field conditions

Mining is our focus. These four examples show where our team has designed, installed and maintained monitoring in difficult field conditions.

CASE STUDY 01

Amazon Basin & Hydroelectric Projects

A decade of hydrology and environmental monitoring across Latin America

Our team spent more than a decade building hydrology and environmental monitoring across the Amazon Basin and the Andes: river flow, water quality and weather stations at sites with difficult access, no grid power and limited communications.

CASE STUDY 02

Large Open-Pit Mines · Latin America

More than a decade supporting complex mining operations

More than a decade of groundwater, surface-water and mine water monitoring at Yanacocha, Antamina, Las Bambas, Toromocho, Antapaccay and Toquepala. Large sites, high elevation, long communication distances and strict safety requirements shaped how we design.

CASE STUDY 03

Nevada Gold Mine

Integrated dewatering monitoring, telemetry and control

EnerTek designed, built, deployed and commissioned a complete dewatering system at a remote Nevada gold mine: pumps, VFDs, generators, instrumentation, PLCs, telemetry and SCADA. Standardized cabinets, local and remote control, and ongoing support from EnerTek.

CASE STUDY 04

Manhattan Environmental Monitoring Network

Large-scale monitoring in critical urban infrastructure

EnerTek is managing hardware design and field deployment of a distributed stormwater and wastewater monitoring network in Manhattan. Sites are underground, corrosive and hard to access, and need the same reliable, standardized hardware we use on mine sites.

CASE STUDY 01

Amazon Basin & Hydroelectric Projects

A decade of hydrology and environmental monitoring across Latin America

For more than a decade, our team designed, installed and maintained hydrology and environmental monitoring across the Amazon Basin and the Andes. The work included hydrometric stations, river flow measurement, surface-water, meteorological and water-quality monitoring, and field instrumentation at hydroelectric facilities.

Many sites were on large river systems with difficult access, no grid power and limited communications. Stations had to run on their own power, send data over the communications available, and keep working in harsh conditions between site visits. Equipment had to be reliable and simple to maintain.

These projects built our team’s practical field experience in remote environmental monitoring: planning work around difficult access, designing stations for the conditions on site, and setting up telemetry where communications are limited. EnerTek applies the same approach to the systems it builds for mine sites today.

CASE STUDY 02

Large Open-Pit Mines · Latin America

More than a decade supporting complex mining operations

Our team has more than a decade of field experience at large open-pit mines in Latin America, including Yanacocha, Antamina, Las Bambas, Toromocho, Antapaccay and Toquepala.

The work centered on hydrology and mine water: groundwater and surface-water monitoring, mine water management and environmental monitoring, with the field instrumentation and telemetry to bring that data back from across each site.

These are large, active operations. Monitoring points are spread across large sites at high elevation, and data often has to travel long distances over difficult terrain. Work is carried out under strict site safety requirements and around active mining, so field access has to be planned carefully.

This experience shapes how we design today. Stations are built to be reliable, safe to access and simple to maintain, and communications are planned for distance and terrain from the start.

CASE STUDY 03

Nevada Gold Mine

Integrated dewatering monitoring, telemetry and control

At a remote gold mine project in Nevada, EnerTek delivered a complete dewatering monitoring and control system and continues to support it.

EnerTek was responsible from design and fabrication through field deployment, commissioning and ongoing support. Each well site combines pump and VFD control, generator integration, flow, pressure and level instrumentation, and groundwater monitoring. PLCs and local HMIs give operators control at the well, and remote telemetry links every site to a central SCADA system.

The site has limited infrastructure, so power, communications and field stations were designed as part of the system. Control cabinets were standardized, with plug-in connections that reduce field wiring, simplify installation and make sites easier to maintain. The same standard design is deployed at each well site.

Operators can see and run the system locally at each well or remotely through SCADA, with documentation and operational support from EnerTek.

Manhattan Environmental Monitoring Network

Large-scale monitoring in critical urban infrastructure

EnerTek is currently managing the hardware design and field deployment of a large distributed stormwater and wastewater monitoring network in Manhattan, New York.

EnerTek’s role covers hardware architecture and monitoring hardware design, instrument integration, installation planning and management, device configuration, telemetry and communications, and support for software configuration, dashboards and data visualization. The team also handles testing, troubleshooting, commissioning and documentation.

Installations are in underground infrastructure and confined spaces, exposed to wastewater, sewage, salt water and corrosion. Access is limited, work windows are restricted, traffic and logistics are complex, and communications from below ground are difficult. The system must still provide reliable data.

The industry is different from mining, but the requirements are similar: reliable instrumentation, standardized hardware, difficult installations, remote communications, careful logistics and maintenance planning, and equipment that operates with limited access. EnerTek uses the same approach on mine sites.

How we work on your site

    Safety, planned from the start

Safety is designed in from day one. Our engineers have run site maintenance themselves, so they know how to get it right without safety and compliance becoming a burden.

    Simplified, versatile design

Teams, conditions and equipment all change. Our designs let new people and new gear connect with little hassle.

Do it once, do it right

Tell us what you need. We build and test it, ship it, and you plug it in.

    Solving tomorrow's problems

Spare capacity in every cabinet, because you never know what's next. Extra solar, because dust builds up on the panels. Heavy cable protection, because someone will drive over it. And stations built big and visible, because someone has to see them reversing on a dark, dusty night.

    Working with your team

Nobody knows the site better than the people who have been there since exploration. It is always a collaboration, and we know the questions to ask.
